With all the attention that the CSDR Cubs been getting recently on several media outlets, have we forgotten that the TSD Rangers won their state football championship last year.

Tornado

The Hardings, a rural Deaf family survives the F5 tornado last night in Kentucky. Bill sense something wrong when their dog start barking and their hearing children was awaken by a warning siren. Jo was in the kitchen drinking coffee when she feels the vibration, getting an alert signal to seek shelter immediately. They manages to escape to their underground bunker just in time. This morning they found their home completely demolished and lucky to be alive and is now filing claims, getting assistane from the FEMA which provides the a trailer and food staples, gathering their personal belongings,etc. The dog was rescued a mile down the road.

Boycott

I do not support any boycott of the Beijing Winter Olympics as politics and sports don't mix. We once boycott the Moscow venue and Russia simply retaliate boycotting the Los Angeles venue. We boycott Moscow because of their invasion of Afghanistan. After they left, we got ourselves in that country where empires died. We should never be involved in the internal affairs of any foreign nations over human rights. We have racism here in America so why should we care about what is happening in China or elsewhere. Our days of gunboat diplomacy is over. Our reputation is at stake, so it may be more difficult to host any Olympics in the future.

Bob Dole

Bob Dole, himself a disabled WWII veteran always supports the Deaf  during his political career. He once wrote to the Gallaudet Board of Trustee encoraging them to select a Deaf candiadate to become President of the University but was ignored. He, along with Vietnam veteran John McCain, also urges his Republican in the Senate to ratified the United Nations' Rights of People with Disabilities but was ignored. You can always count on Bob Dole to support our agendas.

When I was at Gallaudet, I attend LCMS (Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod) worship services led by Daniel Porkorny and after all these years finally got around to learn their Deaf ministry history.

It's that time again when we Deaf makes our New Year's resolutions. According to a recent poll. These are the ten most popular resulutions in our Deaf community.

1. Meet up at DeafNation Expo in Las Vegas.

2. Score a perfect 300 game at a Deaf bowling tournmant.

3. Obtain scholarships to Gallaudet.

4. Get that booster shot.

5. Attend church during potlucks.

6. Rent a "CODA" movie from Redbox.

7. Purchase season tickets to CSDR football games.

8. Register to vote to free America from Trump stranglehold.

9. Refrain from gossips.

10. Apply for a SBA loan to get off SSI and pursuit the American Dream.

"Smash and Grab"

A group of Deaf suspects was rounded up at a mall for their involvement is a "smash and grab,"  stealing smartphones, laptops and attempting to sell them during a monthly Deaf social gathering in the food court that night.
