Kappa Gamma

The Kappa Gamma fraternity at Gallaudet University has an image problem in our cancel culture society, trying to rid itself of the perception of being a racist organization due its history and traditions on campus. My brother-in-law was the Grand Rajah during the post WW II era. The Greek words itself meant knowledge and opportunity, it also the initial of Kendall Green. The robes are similar to that of the monks, the  Bellamy salute was once commonplace in our public schools when we recite the pledge to our flag so what's the big deal anyway.
The Kappa Gamma are protected under the United States Constitution in their rights to freedoms of assembly, freedom of speech and will prevail in the courts.
We shouldn't judge the fraternity on their apparels and traditions  but on their character and leadership skills.
The American Civil Liberty Union (ACLU) often defends the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) their rights to march in a Jewish neighborhood outside of Chicago, adopt a highway in Georgia and place propaganda  on windshields in Missouri, etc.

If the KKK can survive the onslaught so can the KG fraternity.

If the Kappa Gamma wins the case, I encourages them to set up a scholarship fund to support minorities and buy up derelict homes off campus and petition the city to rename West Virginia Avenue as Kappa Gamma row.

This is Smokey stay tuned for the next episode of Deaf Anthology, Good Night Deaf America!
