Xyla, the Deaf dog was rescued from a shelter in time, and was almost euthanized there. The Austin Humane Society assumed that she was Deaf as noises didn't bother her while she was sleeping. The staff successfully train her, using basic commands in sign language. Xyla was adopted after a few months, pah!
