I was a counselor on the Golden Chain Camp staff in Blairstown, New Jersey in 1974 and Tom Coughlin is also a counselor next to my cabin. Golden Chain is a fraternal freemasons order and its charity foundations gives out full 4 years scholarship to Deaf to attend college, Gallaudet or NTID. You know that movie, Friday the 13th, it was filmed in our area. There is no body in the lake, thank goodness and we never met Jason, didn't have mask mandates in those days. We had kids from both Kendall and MSSD attending for a couple of weeks. A couple of years later, Tom Coughlin invited me to his ordination.
This is Smokey stay tuned for the next episode of Deaf Anthology, Good Night Deaf America!
