Young Eagles

I encourage your Deaf children to participate in the Experimental Aviation Association (EAA) Young Eagles program. A volunteer pilot will take your Deaf child doing pre-flight checks,  explains the instruments in the cockpit, and then fly at 35,000 feet. It's important that an ASL interpreter be abroad so you can listen into the communication between the tower and the pilot. After the flight, your Deaf child will receive a  certificate. Contact your local EAA chapter to obtain more information, schedule, to request an ASL interpreter and to register. Parents must sign a waiver.

This is Smokey stay tuned for the next episode of Deaf Anthology, Good Night Deaf America.
