"Wiren"

 

A Surinamese submission, "Wiren," is now one of the foreign films being considered for the upcoming Oscars.

It's based on a true  story of the life of Wiren Meghoe who sued the government, a signatory to the UN "Rights of the Disabled," to demand equality, overcome discriminations and acceptance of sign languages.
