Yosra El Lozy

Egyptian star Yosra El Lozy was subjected to online bullying after a bully commented on a post on her official Instagram account describing her with “mother of the deaf” because of her daughter’s poor hearing.

Lozy taught the bully a lesson in a respectable and honorable way and raised awareness about the right way to describe children who suffer from hard of hearing pointing out that the right expression to describe them is “hard of hearing”.

The Egyptian star expressed her pride to be the mother of a deaf child who will become in the future an extraordinary , educated, and independent  person without being a burden on anyone.

She pointed out  that her daughter made her to speak in TV programs and demand  for early examination to newly born babies to perform a hearing test.

El Lozy pointed out that this early examination will improve the lives of families and allow children who suffer from hard of hearing to get the needed support from an early age to be able to receive the needed education and properly engage in the society.

Deaf Anthology: This is a trailer one of the films Losra El Lozy stars in, I haven't seen it, hopefully I'll someday. I noted in her biography that her father is a professor of theater at the American University in Cairo where she majored in political science.

Deaf Anthology: I often go to various watch foreign films with English subtitles. My goals is to attend prestigious film festivals such as Cannes as a Deaf film critic. I sometimes volunteered here at the Florida Film Festival where "Hammer" were shown, to take an advantage of screening these great films while off duty. If I get a chance, I will go to a local Landmark Theaters while traveling across the country. I support the preservation and restoration of old theatres from the silent era.

This is Smokey stay tuned for the next episode of Deaf Anthology, Good Night Deaf America!
