Signing Santa

A Deaf Santa Claus once had a little young deaf girl sitting on his lap, begging that she get an ASL book under the tree, that her parents accepts her deafness, and allows her to play with her Deaf friends at the neighborhood parks, and go to their school upstate. "I love to pretend that I'm a princess but I want to stop pretending that I'm hearing." Also she mentioned that she got a cochlear-implant last Christmas, not the Barbie she wanted." The Deaf Santa, signing, promises her that she will get her Barbie this year." The parents, in a fit of rage, pulled her away and complained to the mall management that the Deaf Santa was signing and it should be forbidden. The manager agrees to call authorities to take care of the situation, a social worker from the Child Protection Service (CPS) visited the parents home that evening and took custody of the young deaf girl and placed her with a Deaf foster family that uses ASL, after receiving a tip of emotional abuses in her household.

This is Smokey stay tuned for the next episode of Deaf Anthology, Good Night Deaf America!
