Deaf Anthology # 600: "Mission"

Just learned that three Deaf missionaries, one a NTID alumni, died serving their Lord. These brave men, after a couple of years training, learning the Portuguese sign language, preparing to save the souls of Deaf tribes deep in the rain forest of Brazil. Hal, originally from North Carolina, dream of an adventure of a lifetime, reading the National Geographic since childhood, lead the team in providing materials to a recently constructed Deaf school. Cannibalism is a myth. They were well versed in theology, but their unaccredited biblical institution didn't prepare them for what became their fate. Five Deaf tribesmen were saved , waiting on the shore to be baptized in the Amazon River, but unfortunately all three Deaf missionaries were attacked by piranhas that shown no mercy when they step into the water unaware of the dangers that befall them.
