Deaf Anthology # 543: "Homeless"

Zach Bonner, age 12, noticed that many kids his age are homeless and decided to do something about it, taking off from his home in Tampa, Florida on a mission to walk across America, pulling a "Little Red Wagon" (also a Foundation and the title of an upcoming movie based on his life), some 2,478 miles until he arrives in Los Angeles, California six months later, to raise awareness as well as funds.
As a matter of fact, just last weekend I was watching a documentary on HBO about homeless families that lives in motels in Orange County, just right across the street from Disneyland, certainly not the "Happiest Place on Earth."
According to their website, there are 1.3 million homeless kids in America. (I assume that some Deaf are homeless but no statistics available) Am I proud to be an American, with all the problems that our nation faced, not really.
