Deaf Anthology # 393: "Suicide"

A Gallaudet researcher received a grant of $325,000 from the National Institute of Health (NIH) to study why Deaf people committed suicide, as it was reaching epidemic levels. He developed questionnaires in an attempt to understand the circumstances surrounding the issues.

___financial (job loss/bills)
___medical (injury/disease)
___stress (college/family)
*if none of above, go to #10
2. Are you taking anti-depression/anxiety prescriptions
___yes
___no
*if yes, list them:

3. Are your parents fluent in ASL?
___parents/siblings
___spouse/children
___self
4. Do you feel oppressed in the hearing-world?
___yes

5... (these are just samplings as there are 10 questionnaires altogether)
