I finally retired after 28 years with the United States Postal Service at an old and feeble age of 55 here in Milwaukee. So here are my "28" thoughts.

1. At Deaf Way II (DC Convention Center, Washington ) - Californian Deaf postal workers were discussing the postal shooting that happened in Milwaukee at the table I was sitting at, they didn't know who I was as I trying to be humble, until my Deaf co-worker "J.J." pointed me out as the "hero."
2. A $75 gift card to Brett Favre Steakhouse for those Mississippi cuisines for being the so called "hero." I ain't returning!
3. Don giving us a cruise down Milwaukee River on his "yacht" which he lived in all year round, despite the harsh winters, he used to it since he transferred back to Alaska.
4. Someone removed the soda machine from 3M and put it into an elevator. Yes, it's Coke, the real thing.
5. Jeff M. visiting me when I am down and out in the hospital after surgery. Someone does cares.
6. APWU donating to GUAA/WI Chapter to promote our "Titanic" open-captioned event.
7. Gary demonstrating his Chi-Chi machine.
8. Inside the world largest mailbox at Expo 2000, a world's fair in Hannover, Germany with its observation decks. (photo)9. Ron and I getting press credentials to the Harley-Davidson 100th Anniversary.
10. Mike with all his hunting stories, especially the one about wrestling with a bear.
11. Jeff, the Deaf 204-B, a pushover.
12. Young feeding me with Korean leftovers.
13. George from Ghana is still with us in spirit!
14. LSM supervisor Richard letting me off in December to go to a world premiere party in Hollywood.
15. Marguerite and all the losing lottery tickets.
16. Earl joining me as a photographer on the set of "Major League," filming at County Stadium.
17. New Years' Eve party in the Bahamas with Al.
18. Sketches of a "driver battling down mail boxes" wasn't accepted in the Annex t-shirt design contest.
19. Safety talks about uses of a lawn mower when it's snowing outside.
20. Saving all those movie stubs and displaying them on my locker. (photo)
21. Collapsing in my flats cases, couldn't stay awake that night.
22. Stepson, Denis, with me on "Bring Your Child To Work Day."
23. Videophones installed in the "microwave" at the Annex.
24. Ray taking my stepson, Denis, for a day of Frisbee at the Holy Hills.
25. Free beers whenever Mark plays at the local bar.
26. Great Lakes Hearing Dog Program discussing with the postal officials about the possibility of having Abby, my hearing dog with me in the workplace. It was then determined that it wasn't such a good idea because of the noise level on the LSM.

28. "ET," finally punching out.
