
"Quiet Zone," a spinoff of ER, starring Marlee Matlin as a Deaf administrator of a suburban Chicago hospital, trying to balance her life with a household of four kids after a divorce, and to make matters worst, her ex-husband, also a doctor, is a threat to her sanity, opposing her of every initiatives in the boardroom, preventing healthcare reforms, as an strategy to gain sole custody. A pilot episode will be shown tonight 10/9c on NBC, disrupting the schedule, as the network haven't yet include the new series in the fall lineup. The brass will be awaiting results from the overnight Nielsen ratings and the reviews of the critics before making a decision. Deaf Anthology felt it's unfair to air a pilot without prior announcements, so we have to depend on our friends e-mailings their friends letting them be aware of tonight show. Marlee Matlin is looking forward to returning to her familiar roots. There is no shortages of issues in this medical comedy genre, a Deaf scriptwriter hired to our team, giving us feedbacks. This is Marlee Matlin second attempts into television after the short-lived "Reasonable Doubt," cancelled due to lackluster ratings. Our sucess depends on you, the audience. Marlee Matlin was quoted in an interview at the station, "that it isn't easy being a administrator and being a soccer mom, being neutral when you are an advocate, making decisions such as adopting a Deaf dog or pulling a plug of a patient on life-support, dealing with the influences of drug companies,
and meeting the expectation of taxpayers of quality care in this recession that affects us all. Marlee is on the record supporting universal healthcare coverage, it's a right, not a privilege. Marlee Matlin have a busy schedule ahead of her, attending a "Nightmares at Hampshire View" world premiere movie tonight, an ASL film directed by Mark Wood, in Riverdale. Also Marlee will be hitting the late night circuit being on David Letterman to promoting her new book, "I'LL SCREAM LATER."
