Deaf Anthology #42: "Legos' Time"

MILAN, ITALY (September 1880)
The Congress have passed eight resolutions in support of oral education which also eliminates Deaf teachers. A demonstration of oral deaf children was shown able to answer questions. Gallaudet indicated that it was biased because none of the children was born Deaf and all have natural speech before they became deaf after the age of seven due to illness, etc. (Jason writing notes in his Sidekick)
Jason: "Jeffrey, it's Augusto Zucchi, the President of the Congress." (Gallaudet interpreting for the two Deaf delegates, among the 164)
Augusto Zucchi: “...Speech is the expression of the soul...the soul is the expression of living thought.”
Gallaudet: "I didn't expect to see two Deaf Italians signing here."
Jason: "We're not Italians."
Jeffrey: "We're Americans, we go to Gallaudet Elementary School in Old Greenfield, Connecticut."
Gallaudet: "You meant the American Asylum for Deaf, I don't recall Clerc mentioning having two bright young Deaf boys from Old Greenfield in his class?"
Jason: "No, actually we came here from the 21st century in our time-machine that we built out of legos using the Jules Verne's design."
Gallaudet: "I just met Jules Verne recently on a stopover in Paris, never thought that time travel will be a reality, what you go there?"
Jason: "It's a pager that we Deaf uses in the 21st century, we also have videophones that we can communicate, ..."
Gallaudet: "That Bell who invented the telephone but it will be another century before the Deaf have access, his original intention, we don't get along, obviously."
Jeffrey: "We give credits to George Veditz, who preserved sign languages on a Thomas Edison's invention, films."
Gallaudet: "At least that he's not known for just the light bulb, hope someday there be one in my icebox."
Jason: "We gotten go home now, supper is ready, when you meet Bell, tell him that he will sign "no" at his last breath." (the boys return to the present)
Joan: Where have you been?"
Jason: "We are not hungry, we had the last supper at the Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan."
Jeffrey: "Leonardo da Vinci's Renaissance gingerbread was delicious."
Joan: "No excuses, wash your hands."
Presidential Debates, Philadelphia
CNN: "We have a question from a John Johnson of Old Greenfield, Connecticut asking for the candidates viewpoint on Cochlear Implants."
Clinton: "It should be included, along with the hearing aids, in the Universal Health coverage I'm proposing."
McCain: "I'm flatly oppossed to it, it causes our premiums to skyrocketed, it's medically unnecessary, health insurance should be afforable to all Americans."
Obama: "I haven't research in that area, didn't realized that there are Deaf voters out there, shouldn't that be something illegal until child are of legal age to make his own decision, didn't God created us, love shouldn't be conditional."
CNN: "We should also note that McCain once serves on the Gallaudet Board of Trustee.
Jason: "Dad, will you please go have a colonscopy."
Jeffrey: "Please, Dad, we saw your tombstone and your obituary that you have died of colon cancer at the age of 45, you eat too much red meat."
Jason: "Here are the six numbers you need to win the powerball jackpot tonight, 2, 5, 29, 37, and 48, the powerball is 9."
John: "No, I already bought the ticket, using your birthdates."
Joan: "How were your weekend?"

Jason: "We had an adventure, chased by velociraptor, sailed with Columbus, explored Mars, etc."
John: "You boys have great imaginations."
Joan: "John, they're announcing the powerball..."
WBPT: "Tonight's jackpot, $250 millions, the numbers are 2, 5, 29, 37, 48 and the powerball is 9, there is no winner, the jackpot increases to..."
Jason: "Dad, I told you so..."
John: "Show me your time-machine that you built out of legos."
Joan: "John, I think you better go get that colonscopy, get it over with, for the boys' sake."
(John scheduled a colonscopy, sure enough, there were a couple of polyps found that were removed.)
