Deaf Anthology #39: "Murder Deaf Wrote"

Casey's Bar, Los Angeles

Patrons: "Hey Peter, how are your humanoids?" (drunken teasing)

Peter: "You have one drink too many." (fist fight start, bouncer ordered them to leave)

Malibu, California

Patricia: "You are lucky you not charged with disorderly conduct." (Peter approaches his oldest Deaf son, Charlie, unprovoked, punches him)

Peter: "I couldn't enjoy my happy hour without anyone mentioning my humanoid offspring's, get out of my sight."

Patricia: "If I knew you were going to be born Deaf, I would have gotten an abortion." (Charlie pulled out a handgun from his father's drawer)

Junior: "Charlie, No..." (gunshot burst, Peter succumbed)

Charlie: "Junior, call 911"

CNN: "We interrrupted this program to bring you breaking news from Los Angeles, police have found the bodies of the parents of two Deaf children murdered in their Malibu suburban home, a handgun was found at the scene. We were able to obtained a transcript of that 911 tty call."
911: "State your emergency"

Child: "My Deaf brother just shot my Dad"

911: "Where's your Dad?"

Child: "He's in the bedroom, I think he's dead, now he going after my Mom (crying), in the kitchen." (another gunshot burst in the background)

911: "Stay on the line, we will send the police over."

Child: "Both my parents dead now, it's their fault."

911: "What?"

Child: "We suffered all our lives, living with CI."

911: "We'll send a social worker to accompany the police."

Child: "Please don't arrest my Deaf brother (crying), I love him, he's trying to protect us."

Charlie: "Junior, I love you..." (Charlie points the handgun to his head)

Junior: "No..." (Junior jumps on Charlie, the handgun discharged, hitting an officer in the shoulder, both handcuffed taken into custody)

CNN: "It's over, an officer were injured in the standoff, Los Angeles police think they have a motive, CI have taken an emotional toll on these two Deaf children, age 8 and 12, they were taken downtown to a juvenile detention center for processing, before being transferred to Stark facility in Chino."

Stark Juvenile Correctional Facility

Warden: "Junior, you'll be placed in a foster home, with a Deaf family in Sacramento, a social worker will accompany you."

Junior: "I don't want to leave my brother..." (Charlie taken to his cell)

Crip: "Didn't we met before at a Scared Straight encounter at your school."

Charlie: "I guess I didn't take your advice."

Crip: "I heard the news, normally we don't protect white suburban brats, but our Deaf gang will protect you, you shouldn't even be here."

Counselor: "Now stripe down and hit the showers." (boys showering, the Blood approaches them)

Blood: "You, Charlie, now time for an initiation rites, just bend over, and..."

Crip: "Leave him alone' he's our Lot, let him leave Sodom." (Crip castrated Blood with a contraband, Charlie didn't look back)

Public Defender: "The CAD have posted your bail, so you will be reunited with your brother, you're lucky that Crip saved your life."

CNN: "The Public Defender put in a motion that the case be dismissed due the the fact that the defense is unable to obtain a MRI. He insisted on a jury of Deaf peers and no courtroom broadcasts unless it's closed-captioned in real time. The judge denied the motions, after prosecutors objected, a hearing is postponed as Ricky, the interpreter, is on another assignment."

Sacramento, California

Junior: "Charlie, I'm so glad to see you, I was so worried."

Charlie: "The food isn't any worst than the school cafeteria."

Foster Parents: "They have released your videotape on CNN, we have decided to adopt you both." (family hugs)

CNN: "This is a videotape where Charlie describes in emotional details of his life living with CI, his younger brother prevented his suicide attempt, the latest Harris polls are sympathetic to the boys, California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger have introduced legislation to ban CI in children under the age of 18. Hollywood stepped in to raised funds, area doctors volunteered their time to remove the CI. We now go live to the White House." White House

President Bush: "As you know, I don't condone violence but their innocence been taken away, therefore I am granting a pardon to both Charlie and Junior, they have captured the conscience of our nation."
